An energy audit is the gateway to information and savings. The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program can help you become more comfortable while lowering your energy costs by up to 20%. Plus, you can receive rebates of up to $10,000** or up to 75% of the project cost for completing eligible home improvements. **Rebates up to $15,000 when converting from gas or oil to an electric heat pump**
Eligibility requirements:
Rebates for improvement or replacement of:
Start by scheduling a Home Energy Assessment, starting at $125. Through this program, a certified home energy auditor will come to your home to:
– Perform a comprehensive evaluation of your home systems (air sealing and insulation, HVAC, and more).
– Provide a detailed, customized report with recommended improvements and rebate amounts specific to your home.
Rebate amounts for eligible performance improvements are listed in the audit report. These amounts represent the maximum rebates available, as long as they do not exceed 75% of the project cost based on the contractor’s proposal after the audit. The total rebate cannot exceed $10,000, with most averages falling between $3,000 to $5,000 when utilized. It functions more like a discount on the proposed cost of the improvement work.
In addition to your Home Performance program rebate of up to $10,000, air sealing and insulation work is eligible for a tax credit of 30% of the project cost (up to $1,200) through federal tax credits. If you upgrade to a new ENERGY STAR® certified heat pump water heater, you could receive similar federal tax credits (30% of project costs, up to $2,000).
Other rebates and even financing may also be available but are outside the scope of this program—refer to applicable websites for more information.
